Akasha Dance Theatre is a UK-based dance organisation, offering bold, dynamic, unique physical theatre work.
We are inspired by an unwavering passion for creativity and expression.
Our main focus is on creating and producing dance theatre for film and live performance, as well as offering movement and theatre skills workshops for beginner, intermediate and professional level actors and dancers, as well as providing 1-2-1 guidance for artists at all stages of their artistic journeys.
We provide nurturing spaces for dancers and theatre makers.
We’re passionate about giving dancers the spaces and tools to explore their artistry, whilst developing exciting repertoire which captivates, stimulates and moves audiences.

NEW FILM PROJECTS
Presented by Akasha Dance Theatre
Exoskeleton is an unsettling piece of autobiographical, cinematic dance theatre, immortalised in film. We follow the story of Girl and Glitch – a human, and a biological hazard that has burrowed a home inside of her. Voyeurs of this haunting exposé get a taste of frightening, sensory attack, dragged through an ever-shifting landscape of raw, neurological symptoms. Suitable for viewers 16+. Please note: this film contains flashing images.
PAST PROJECTS
dance:play, hosted by Cambridge Junction.
We had a great time last summer at dance:play, a FREE movement exploration/jam evening at Cambridge Junction. Participants were shaking to the best dance and electronic tracks..and celebrated summer by summoning our creative energies! The event was held at Cambridge Junction in summer 2023, funded by Arts Council England as part of Akasha Dance Theatre’s project Exoskeleton, a feature-length dance film and series of workshops, inspired by neuroscience.
